Vocabulary Paragraph #1

"When the world first incipient … No … They first began to incipient when …" Damian read his writing's aloud as he slaved over the arduous toil of his English homework. He scribbled something down.

Keith gave the other next to him a poke with his guitar pick. "Damian, will you--" Keith began his request to the younger boy in a contempt way, of which he thought the other was very much being. Then, looking over Damian's shoulder, inquired in a brusque manner. "What in the world are you doing?"

"My English homework; What does prowess mean?" The dark haired boy absently continued thinking aloud, not giving Keith much thought.

George looked up from the book he was reading and began to answer the boy. "It means--"

"If you really wanted to know, you'd look it up in a dictionary!" Keith snarled at Damian. He wasn't in the best mood. For the entire day, Paul and Ryan had been joking around and teasing him. It made him feel very down and was taking out his gloomy mood on everyone in his way.

Damian tore his gaze from his paper to look at Keith, his bright blue eyes set in a very puppyish tone. "Hey! What did I do?" The two usually got along well; though when they didn't, their quarrels often became loud and unruly, disquieting the calm setting before them quite well.

"Don't start it, you two." George gave the rebuke in a warning tone, hoping he could somehow stop what was to happen before it escalated further. George pulled a thick volume off of the shelf next to him. "Damian, here's a dictionary. Use it."

"OK, thanks." The boy deftly caught the old wrinkled book that George tossed across the room for him. He quickly began flipping through the dictionary to find the word he had wanted to know the meaning of. Stopping at the page, he read the word's meaning several times. He then began tapping the book against his nose as he thought of what to write down.

"I know, I know!" He unexepectedly hollered, bouncing up and down when an idea suddenly came to him. He scrawled it down as quickly as he could.

"What now?" George and Keith grumbled as soon as they'd gotten over the surprise of Damian's jumping.

"I came up with another sentence!" Damian told them, excitedly and began to read aloud with out the others asking him to do so. "Neil's mad guitar skills ..."

"NO!" Keith bellowed. George groaned to himself as Damian glared over at his fellow musician.

"I'm not finished reading yet!" The boy wined and continued. "Neil's mad guitar skills may be PROWESS to Keith's, but Keith's surfing skills beats all!" Damian beamed, very pleased with himself. Surprisingly, he also got a great big bear hug from a now very delighted Keith.

"I'm glad that you think so, Damo!"

"I love you too, Keith-stir." Damian mumbled, getting an imperious glare from Keith. Keith hated the group's nickname for him.

George sighed. He found it amazing how fast the guy's disagreements could escalate and just as quickly, one of them could find something to atone for what had happened.  He shook his head and went back to the book he was reading. At least this one hadn't gotten too far.
This is my english homework from the other night. Every week we're supposedly going to be getting vocab words and we're supposed to write a paragraph. And I didn't write just a paragraph, I wrote a short story coming out to two pages. We had ten words that we had to use and are going to have a on test tomorrow. Brownie points to whoever can guess the words.

Next thing I have to write is a folktale. Better start thinking. :)

I know, sometimes even drawings are hard to start...

I have so many good ideas, just not the patience to right them down! :P

That was funny. Keith and Damian in this story remind me of my sister and me. =D We are the SAME way!
